About us

Sweaweed is an interdiciplinary collaboration between the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and the Royal Institute or Technology, KTH. University of Gothenburg is the coordinating partner.

Together, the team provides a broad expertise on macroalgae and marine compunds, extraction procedures and designing renewable functional materials.

Related projects

Sweaweed is supported by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research within the research program Biological production systems. This program aims to stimulate the development of industrial processes that can be part of a future sustainable bio-based economy. Seaweed is one of eight projects with a five year grant.
